About Us
Seedlings is a small family feel, family owned Pre-School held in St John's Memorial Hall overlooking St John’s Lye. We have children between the ages of 2-4yrs, and are open for 38 weeks of the year in line with the school terms.
Our Pre School room has been purpose built, providing a light and airy free flow environment where the children learn while they play and have fun! Different areas of learning: Art & Craft, Reading, Small World, Construction, Sensory and Role Play keep the children busy.
We have a spacious garden area which is surfaced with memory foam cushioned artificial grass giving the children a large, safe area to run around in, explore and have fun.
Across the road is St John’s Lye and surrounding woodland where the children can explore during nature walks and activities. We go to the Co-op to buy biscuits for a picnic and then go to feed the fish, wave at the trains, collect frog spawn in Spring or make pictures with the things we find. At Christmas we go on a trip to the post box to send our letters to Santa. On the way back we make a stop at the local playground.
Our Ethos
At Seedlings we create a fun and caring environment. One of the most important things to help young children thrive is to be looked after by people they know and who know them. We never use agency staff. We run 'over ratio', which gives us a buffer, but we also have people the children know who can step in if we have staff off sick.
